Henry Moore Trip
Recently Art students in Years 11 and 13 took part in an artist-led workshop at Houghton Hall. The day focused on the sculpture and drawings of Henry Moore, and students were able to see many examples of Moores work both inside the Hall and around the grounds. They were introduced to the purpose and meaning behind Moores own work and despite the windy conditions worked outside with the workshop artist to produce some lively, expressive responses in chalk and charcoal to add to their own portfolios. We are grateful that this trip was partially funded by Neaco, an organisation which supports students in their aspirations and progression to higher education.
First PTA Event; Bingo Night!
Friends of Downham Market Academy are hosting their first large-scale fund raising event on Thursday 17th October in the Assembly Hall at the Academy. We cordially invite you, with friends and family, to enjoy an evening of bingo playing, refreshments and raffle. Doors open at 7pm with eyes down for 7:30pm. It would be amazing to get the PTA fund raising kicked off to a great start to enable re-investment back into the enrichment of your children’s experience at Downham Market Academy. There really are some fantastic prizes to be won through both the bingo and raffle from great local companies supporting the event.
