- 21st November – Year 7 Harry Potter Trip
- 29th November – Year 9 Parents Evening
Mock exams for Year 11 are well under way and we have been very impressed by the level of maturity around revision that lots of students are already demonstrating. “Period 7” sessions are ongoing throughout the exam weeks and will continue immediately after. In light of exam results, we will look at the tutor group and period 7 allocation for each student to ensure that they are best supported for the next few weeks.
Staff take their professional development seriously and this week staff have attended sessions on behaviour relationships with pupils, challenge, questioning, modelling, key first aid systems in school, engaging hooks at the beginning of lessons, and a series of short presentations from memory recall to language literacy! It has been a bumper week this week, but every week staff actively develop their practise ensuring our provision for pupils at DMA is of the highest standard.
UEA Street Law Society
The UEA Street Law Society came in to run a mock trial with the 6th Form students on Thursday. The students role played different members of the court including defence, prosecution, acclaimed and jury. The students really enjoyed this insight into the British Law Courts. They particularly enjoyed the wigs!
History Battlefields Trip
The History department are excited to announce that they are changing the days of the Battlefields Trip from weekend of July 6-8th to Tuesday 9th – Thursday 11th to avoid clashes with the Duke of Edinburgh expedition. We are looking for more eager Historians to join us on our trip – where they will get to see the cemeteries and places of fighting during WWI. The deadline has been extended till the 23rd of November.
If for whatever reason this prevents your child attending the trip please contact finance for a refund however we look forward to having more budding Historians on board.
