- 31st January – Year 10 Parents’ Evening
As preparation for the summer GCSE exams continues, all parents of Year 11 students are now receiving a daily email containing short questions for all subject areas to support revision at home. In addition to this we have an evening on Tuesday 12 February where staff from each subject area will model effective revision techniques – please book spaces online at www.parents-booking.co.uk/downhammarket
It was great to see so many parents at the Year 11 Parents’ Evening yesterday – your support and encouragement at home is absolutely crucial in ensuring that students are prepared for the summer exams.
Feedback from Year 11 Parents’ Evening was overwhelmingly positive and we would like to thank everyone for their continued support
The Year 10 Parents’ Evening is on Thursday 31 January and all appointments can be booked through the online system: www.parents-booking.co.uk/downhammarket
Window Replacement Programme
We are delighted that the work has begun replacing the remaining windows at the academy. The classrooms are certainly much brighter and warmer and as you will see by the pictures below the work is transforming the schools exterior.
All being well works will be complete by Easter and staff are working hard to ensure all classes are minimally disturbed.
On Tuesday next week, Year 9 students will have the opportunity to participate in a careers and futures event. Students will meet a range of further education providers and employers and hear from inspirational alumni, a perfect start to their beginning the options selection process.
Year 10 Assessment reports have been handed to students this morning. Please ask your child to pass these to you and use the information to consider the following questions:-
- Are the estimated grades in line with the potential grades? Remember potential grades are the grades we believe he is capable of achieving
- What can you do to improve the estimated grades?
