Year 10 Parents Evening
The Year 10 Parents Evening will be held on Thursday 6 February, beginning at 4.15pm and ending at 7.15pm. The teaching staff of Year 10 students will be present so that you may consult with them about the progress and achievement of your child. We will continue to use the online booking system for our Parents Evenings this year we hope that it makes the process of arranging appointments easier for parents so you get to speak to the teachers you need to. In order to access this system, please type the following web address directly into the address bar of your browser (it wont come up in a search engine such as google):

Year 9 Pathway Appointments
There is an upcoming opportunity for parents of Year 9 students to discuss Pathways, this being the process of deciding upon courses for Year 10 and 11, at a parents meeting with one of the senior team. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to ask any questions or seek advice related to them individually, and we encourage you to attend. Last year we saw over 160 families. These meeting are available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (27th, 28th or 29th) January between 2pm and 6pm each day. The appointments will take place at the 6th Form site where we ask you to head to Reception. Please collect your child from Bexwell reception before making your way to the 6th Form. To book an appointment please use the link www.parentsbooking.co.uk/downhammarket and follow the instructions below:-
- For each evening there are two slots available for each time. For example at 3.30, there are two appointments;
- All slots are linked to a teacher called either Senior Leader Slot 1 or Slot 2;
- Please select the day and time slot you wish to attend and book under any of the two teachers available;
- On the day, you will be allocated to the next available teacher in your timeslot;
- Each parent should only make one appointment on one day resulting in one 10 minute consultation;
Non-Uniform Day
We have a non-uniform day next Friday (31 January) to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. So many families are affected by this disease and the work that Macmillan do in supporting them is amazing so we would like to support that. We would like everyone to wear at least one item of green clothing and donate a minimum of 1 please. Any non-uniform worn must however be appropriate for school.
Year 11 Parents Evening
The Year 11 Parents’ Evening on Thursday was very positive and we would like to thank all parents for their support in these crucial upcoming weeks before the exams start. A reminder that all students in Year 11 will have a final round of mock exams in English, Maths and Science in the first week back after February half term – this is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate what they can or cannot do so that we can tailor our final few lessons and intervention sessions to ensure that they are totally ready for the exams.
