Year 7 Update
Over the Half term break two of our amazing students went abroad to take part in specialist training camps:
Sophie came 2nd in her Acrobat competition in Morocco for Best Acrobat for under sixteens” whilst Bob took part in a Roller Hockey training camp in Portugal and now trains with the national team a couple of weekends a month.
A third, Mabel went to a competition in London, got a silver medal and was invited to a training session last weekend where one of the couches is currently 2nd in the world for tumbling.
On Wednesday afternoon year 9&10 students participated in a workshop with professional theatre company frantic assembly. The students were working on developing their skills in lifting, choral movement and physical storytelling. The practitioners were fantastic and the students were engaged throughout the four hour session: of course they were beautifully behaved and respectful at all times. The year 10 students plan to use these techniques in their devising performance exams in a few weeks time. Thank you so much to the friends of DMA who kindly funded this.

The arrangements for lunchtime changed this week following feedback from students. The new layout and queuing system means that we have a dedicated Dining Hall where students can sit and eat their food in comfort whilst talking to friends and the one way system for queuing and movement through the canteen ensures student safety and comfort when eating.
