Making the transition from primary school to DMA successful
Transition from primary school to DMA
We recognise that moving from primary school to secondary school is a big step for children and parents so we hope that make this process as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, our plans for this year have been curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic but we are working hard on alternatives that we will share with you over the next few weeks.
We want to provide parents with all the information you need and we also want to provide this in a child-friendly format that can be used in the home to alleviate any worries that children may have.
We have created an interactive map of the Academy that you can use to “see” all the main areas. Click on the image and then run the powerpoint as a slide show. Click on flashing boxes within the map to view a photo of that area!
If you have not done so already, please do complete the information gathering form on this link (https://downhammarketacademy.co.uk/information/admissions/) as soon as possible so we have up to date contact information plus any relevant details around SEND, medical needs and meal provision that will help us to make things work more smoothly from our end.
If you would like to get in touch with us, please use our dedicated email address: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will either reply directly or arrange a time to give you a call.
Every two weeks, we will be emailing you with a link to the next edition of the “DMA Transition Dispatch” which will introduce you and your child(ren) to the Academy, different staff in the department areas and some challenges that we hope you will engage with.
We look forward to meeting you all very soon!
